Roby in Ropes

BERLIN, APRIL 2025 IN WEISSENSEE AT THE STUDIO OF DANIEL KRAUSE

As a small art project I planned for Roby a surprise, a body paint on her with ropes and wax. My current working place at the Prachtsaal Studio in Neukölln did not allow me to do this performance without further long lastint conversations and elections by the collective which is there as main group.. while myself is a subcontractor of a subgroup who only rented desktop places.. – so no chance to do anything artisticly there. I asked a friend who is a scultpure if we could do this at his place, at his new studio place in Weissensee, Berlin and he agrees.. What a joy.
As a rope mistress I found Svetlana to tie Roby so that we do have her as a human sculpture, painted, waxed, roped into a form..- that was the idea.
To free up my mind I tried to forget as much as possible of what exactly I wanted to do.. – packed all stuff I might need, rented a car and wanted to let things come into a flow – means to be as open as possible to do finally what the situation, the model, the sculpture artist, myself and the rigger agrees.
I find this setting of „clear my mind the day before“ is a very important step to not be bothered or blocked with emotions if something might change, not coming, will go a different path or just things will develop differently, not speaking about people not coming at all..
It is important to keep yourself optimistic and in a good mood for any photography session:
Roby was so kind that she likes surprises and was really very open for anything which might come – so thankful about this cool setting!
